"Dragon, Book Of Shang" Screenplay, News & Reviews

It's been quite awhile since I have posted any thing to the blog. However, that does not mean things have not been going on. Obviously, I have also been caught up in the global b*lls**t that has ensnared all of us. Political crap, financial garbage, energy screw YOU, the whole nine yards. That has monopolized a good deal of everyone's time, including mine.

On the brighter side though, it gives me great pleasure to announce that I have just finished editing the screenplay for my book, "Dragon, Book Of Shang". My partner and west coast counter part, Dan D, has done a magnificent job putting the screenplay together. Matter of fact, he did such a great job that some studio should be all over this before the holidays. Unless of course they are having major financial probs like all of us. Once this hits the silver screen, it will have YOU begging for the second and third books and movies. YOU can bank that!

Now that the screenplay is a wrap pretty much, I can get on with book 2. I have been making notes and researching and have at least the first 4-5 chapters laid out already. I am thoroughly excited about getting into book 2 full tilt. By the way, if for some reason YOU have not gotten a copy of the book yet, what are YOU waiting for? Before I post the latest reviews, I would like to take a moment to comment on the movie industry etc. This past week(july 20, 2008)the Comic-Con convention took place in Southern California. During the week, a number of details came out about upcoming movies, tv etc. The thing that keeps going through my head every time I see the list of coming attractions is, "DOES ANYONE IN HOLLYWOOD HAVE AN ORIGINAL IDEA"? I mean, give me a f*%^#ing break! It's either remakes, rehashes or various takes on the same old crap.

The first full quarter just ended today and I should have a quarterly statement in August sometime. Volcano Sleeps Ten Thousand Years, Awakes With A Bang

Eruption Leaves Chilean Town Deserted

SANTIAGO, Chile (May 3) - The Chaiten volcano spewed light ash on a nearly deserted village Saturday, two days after its first eruption in thousands of years.

No more than 45 of Chaiten's 4,500 residents remained in what looked like a ghost town, its streets, houses, cars and trees draped with a thick layer of light-colored ash, Interior Minister Edmundo Perez said.

Those who decided to stay after Thursday's eruption could be seen wearing face masks outdoors in Chaiten, 750 miles south of the capital, Santiago. Street lights were illuminated under darkened skies.

Just six miles away, the volcano belched fat smoke plumes that at times rose as high as 12 miles into the air, the government's Emergency Bureau said.

Winds carried the ash to other towns in the region and across the Andes mountains to Argentina, where two airlines suspended flights due to poor visibility.

The Chaiten volcano has "probably been dormant for about 9,000 or 10,000 years but that's not unusual," said Charles Stern, a professor of volcanology at the University of Colorado who specializes in Andes volcanoes.

Authorities evacuated most of Chaiten's residents to schools and churches in the nearby cities of Puerto Montt and Castro.

"It is very difficult to predict when the people will be able to return," Perez said. "This situation can last for days, or weeks - or longer."

Some residents were pessimistic.

"This could be the end of our town," community leader Leonardo Maureira told Radio Cooperativa of Santiago. "We have worked an entire life here and now all we could do was to put a few things in a bag and depart, leaving everything behind."

Others decided to stay.

"We have to protect our investment," said Nelson Alderete, a small shopkeeper, as he watched his wife and small daughter board a boat to Puerto Montt. "But if things get really ugly, I will leave."

Chaiten Mayor Jose Fritis said the town will not die.

"This has been a historic catastrophe for us, but we will rebuild from the ashes," he said.

I sympathize with these people totally, however, Dont know about that "rebuilding from the ashes" philosophy. This could be the first of many eruptions after being dormant for so long, or, it could go back to sleep for another 10,000 years or so.

Her bed was soaked. Her head was pounding, her heart was racing, she was weak and felt as if she would explode. "What is wrong with me", Jiana thought. She was scared out of her mind. All she could think was to get to the shower and the cold water.

As the full moon reflected off the calm bayou waters, it's light silhouetted the small house boat that was docked and moored at the end of a small narrow pier a matter of yards from the shoreline.

Suddenly, the house boat was jolted viciously as if it had been hit broad side by a giant battering ram. It listed to the shore side before settling back flat on the water.

"Goddammit, what the hell was that" said the old man as he picked himself up from the boats floor. Having been thrown to the ground from his bunk by the sudden impact on his house boat, he was a little annoyed and perplexed as to what was going on.

Well, here we are, just short of a month since "Dragon, Book Of Shang" was published and went live. Sales have been clipping right along. On Thursday, march 7, 2008, I had the pleasure of doing my buddies "Upop/Worldspace Satellite Radio Show. Ted Kelly does the morning show Mondays -Saturdays which is broadcast all over the globe.
